Cornelius

Ann Stirewalt Williams, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Cornelius, NC on January 9, 2026. Ann had a very meaningful career. She began working in 1962 at Cannon Mills Main Office, and in 1985 became a founding member of The Finley Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. She retired in 2005 to become a devoted “Grandmommy” to her twin grandsons, Davis and Harrison Coffey, who were truly her pride and joy.

Ann was a faithful and active member of Davidson United Methodist Church and a dedicated supporter of The Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson. She loved to entertain and hosted countless gatherings over the years, bringing people together with warmth, laughter, and generosity. Ann was known for her loving heart, her giving spirit, and her sarcastic sense of humor. She built friendships that felt like family. She cherished her monthly lunches with the “Odell Babes,” a group of former classmates, as well as her close-knit circle of ladies who met almost every week.

She is survived by her beloved husband, R.W. Williams; her loving daughter, Amy Huggins Coffey, her wife Claudia, and grandchildren Davis, Harrison, Julian, Lily, and Isabella.
Brother, Edward Stirewalt
She is also survived by her cherished “bonus daughters,” Dianne Jones and her husband Andra, and granddaughters Emory and Hayden; Leslie Lipscomb and her husband David, and grandson Brewer.
And special family members , Ann Coffey (Cornelius), Amy and Pat Hazelett (West Virginia) and Doug and Keiko Williams (Tokyo, Japan)

Ann will be terribly missed by her family and her many friends whose lives she touched with love, generosity, humor, and grace.
