Bailes "Bailey" Clayton Porter

Bailes Clayton Porter, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Rockstar," passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, and entered the gates of Heaven.

Bailes had a passion for landscaping and took great joy in making things beautiful. He loved reading history, especially anything involving the military, and had a special appreciation for all things military. He enjoyed rock music, western movies, and cheering on his beloved Carolina Panthers. He especially loved the beach and treasured vacations to Florida.

Above all, Bailes loved the Lord and cherished the time he spent with his family. Bailes had a special love for his family, especially his mama, whom he always made sure was taken care of. His unique personality, generous spirit, and unmistakable "Rockstar" presence will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Bailes was preceded in death by his father, Francis Porter, and stepfather, Benny Cloninger. He is survived by his mother, Joann Cloninger; his sisters, Michelle (Darryl) Banister and Tonya (Darrell) Penland; nieces, Ashley (Keith) Marthers and Briannah Penland; nephews, Brandon (Danielle) Banister, Shane (Stephanie) Banister, and Tyler (Stevie) Penland; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm, Monday, August 17, 2026 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte.

Though he has left this earthly life, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
