Barbara Jane Benner

Barbara Jane (Labunetz) Benner aged eighty two years before returning to her maker on 10 August, 2026; in Huntersville, North Carolina; where she resided for the past 34 years. Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on 18 June 1944, she was the daughter of William and Anne Labunetz, also of Norristown. She was the sister of the late Dr. William Labunetz (Geraldine), of Great Falls, Montana. Barbara proudly claimed to be the Wife of her Husband John, for 56 years. She leaves behind three sons; John, Junior (Tara), Timothy (Nicole), and David, whom she will be joining in heaven. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; Carolyn, Josephine (Jake), Sydney, Nolan, Matthew, and Dominic.

Barbara graduated in 1962 from Bishop Kenrick HS, in Norristown. She attended Pierce Junior College in Philadelphia, where she earned an Associates Degree. She was employed as a Data Entry Specialist for several years in the Philadelphia Suburbs; before moving with John to Huntersville. She was a server for several years at The Peninsula Club on Lake Norman, however she found the most joy being a lifelong Homemaker. She excelled at cooking and baking the foods of her Polish heritage, but her true passions were gardening, raising her children, and doing all things necessary to create a happy and warm environment to raise her three children, and her loving and cantankerous Husband (his words).

A service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2026 in the mausoleum at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Norristown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Barbara’s favorite charity; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) are encouraged.
