Barbara Schilling-Studer, of Cornelius, NC passed away on September 10, 2024 after a four year battle with Chronic Kidney Disease.
Barbara was born in Buffalo, NY to her loving mother and father, Helen and John Usiak. After Barbara graduated from Lancaster High School she went on to study at Buffalo State College and got a Bachelor's degree in Education, and then her Master's degree in Education at the University at Buffalo. She worked at Potter Road Elementary School as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher for a decade until starting a family of her own. Barbara had two beautiful children, Trevor and Lauren.
In 2003 Barbara met the love of her life, Tom, and the two of them got married in 2005. They went on to share their lives together and made the move down to Charlotte, NC from Buffalo, NY in 2016.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Pigovat; her father, John Usiak; and her step-father, Benjamin Pigovat. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Studer; her son, Trevor Schilling (Cindy Schilling); her daughter, Lauren Rosati (David Rosati); her brother, John Usiak; her step-sons, Tom Studer and Sean Studer (Jennifer Studer); her grandchildren, Lily Studer, Owen Schilling, Stellan Studer, Evan Schilling, and Caden Rosati. She will be greatly missed by all.
She left a legacy of love as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.
A visitation will be held at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A Catholic mass will be held at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11am. Flowers can be sent to Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078, or donations can be made in Barbara's name to P.E.O. Chapter BR c/o Weimar, 11132 Warfield Avenue, Huntersville, NC 28078.
