Betty Sue Riley Easter

Betty Sue Riley Easter, 90, of Cornelius, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Betty was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on January 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Cratus Riley and Atrell Joyner Riley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale Easter; and brothers, Thomas Riley and Charles Riley.

Betty was the co-founder and a lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Charlottesville, Virginia and an attending member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, North Carolina. She was Aunt Bea to a host of nieces and nephews. 

Betty is survived by her sister, Shirley Riley Cushion; daughters, Pam Evans (Jack), Teresa Easter, Kay Ragland; grandchildren, Paul Ragland Jr. (Jen), Paige Ragland Garwood, Kindle Higgins (Eli Janania), Holly Higgins Wilcher (Seth), Riley "RJ" Ragland (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Kara Ragland, Kyle Garwood, Kaden Ragland, Chelsea Garwood, Shawna Garwood, Ella Mae Wilcher, Grady Wilcher, Ellie Amal Janania, and Warren Janania.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, 1:00 PM, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 19600 Zion Avenue, Cornelius, NC.
