Betty Kidd Houston

Mrs. Betty Kidd Houston, 90, of Huntersville, NC joined her beloved husband, Robert, in heaven on August 6, 2022. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.

Born Betty Marie Kidd of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late John Pearl Kidd and Mamie Lewis Kidd.

Betty was a life-long homemaker; kind, gentle and devoted to making her home warm and a special place for all her family and friends. All were drawn to gather and fellowship in her home and, as host to those she loved, Betty had a way of making the most simple a beautiful and special experience that brought joy to everyone. An avid gardener, Betty was ahead of her time with her eye for design both in her home and in her beautiful gardens, lovingly designed and created by her and husband, Robert. She will be remembered beyond these things for her love of collecting antique china, her book collection, her photography, and journaling and extensive family genealogy research.

Betty is survived by children; Bobby Houston and wife, Patsy; Janet Booker and husband Donald; Judy Jamieson and husband, Mac; David Houston, and her favorite niece, Donna Hollar and husband, Bill. She is also survived by grandchildren; Elisabeth Bunton and husband, Jacob; Jessica Grice and husband, Jason; Rebecca Hybl and husband, Ryan; Evan Jamieson; Beatty Jamieson and wife, Lynell; and Joshua Booker and wife, Kayla. Great-grandchildren; Winter, Ady, Harper, Lincoln, Callie, and Gwendolyn.

A graveside service is planned for November 12, 2022 at 11:00am for Robert and Betty at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Huntersville, NC.
