Betty A. Huffstetler

Betty Axsom Huffstetler, passed from this earth to her Heavenly home on November 12, 2023. She was born on January 9, 1930 in Burlington, NC to the late Lloyd J. and Mildred Barnes Axsom.

Betty’s youth was spent with her family in Lowell, NC, graduating from Lowell High School in 1947 and attended Kings College in Charlotte. Betty met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Huffstetler on June 30, 1951. After his four years in the Air Force they settled in Charlotte where she was employed by the Cato Corporation for 29 years. After their retirement they spent their remaining years at their home on Lake Norman. Betty was a faithful and loving member of Newell Baptist Church (King's Church) for more than 50 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William (Bill) Huffstetler; one brother, Norman Axsom; sister, Daphene Preslar; beloved grandmother, Mary Barnes; and daughter-in-law, Kim (Rob) Huffstetler.

She is survived by her son, William Robert Huffstetler Jr.; granddaughter, Laura Baucom (Kevin); grandson, William Robert Huffstetler III (Sandy); great granddaughter, Kirsten Baucom; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, 11:00 AM at King’s Church, Charlotte. Interment will take place following the service at the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends inside the Church following the interment.
