Betty Lou Logan, lovingly known as Mom, MawMaw, and GiGi, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on February 12, 1940, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was a cherished member of her community and a beloved matriarch whose legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by those who knew her.
Betty Lou’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Keziah and Bessie Lee Burnett. She shared a lifelong partnership with her late husband, Elder Gene Logan. Together, they raised their family, including sons Russell Logan and Leonard Logan, both of whom preceded her in death.
Her surviving family is a testament to her nurturing spirit. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Patty Logan Hanna, who carries forward her mother’s wisdom and grace. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren: Kristen Gadaire, Missy Williams, Caitlyn Clark and her husband Brent, and Beth Logan, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Betty Lou was also a proud great-grandmother to Gavyn, Kinsley, Grayson, Kallie, Khloey, Kayleb, Donnie, and Elijah. The joy she found in family extended even further to her three great-great-grandchildren, Kaymen, Kaison, and Kolby, who were a source of immense pride and happiness.
A Graveside Service to honor and remember Betty Lou Logan will be held on May 26, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery located at 11403 Bain School Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227. The service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all who were touched by her life to pay their respects and celebrate the wonderful person she was.
Throughout her life, Betty Lou Logan was a beacon of strength and love. Her legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she influenced with her kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
