Bonnie Ann Elliott

December 27, 1955 — December 14, 2024

Mooresville

Bonnie Ann Elliott, 68, of Mooresville, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturday, December 14th, 2024.

Bonnie was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on December 27th, 1955 to the late Harvey Oiva Jokinen and Mary Elizabeth Boughter Jokinen. Along with her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her brother, CPT Harvey Richard Jokinen, U. S. Army. Bonnie was a 1973 graduate of New Castle High School and then matriculated to Edinboro University and later graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stephen J. Elliott whom she married on October 13th, 1979. In addition to her husband she is survived by her two sons, Dustin (Sara) Elliott of Cornelius, NC, Noah (Halee) Elliott of Denver, NC, and her daughter, Jaclyn (Chris) Winters of Clayton, NC. Bonnie is also survived by her two sisters, Sandra (David Sr.) Tate of Canton, OH and Jan (Deames) Davis of Midlothian, TX as well as four beloved grandchildren Bryce, Palmer, Sailor and Eldridge who affectionately called her Grandma Bon-Bon. She is also survived by Thomas (Patti) Elliott of New Castle, PA, James (Debra) Elliott of Volant, PA, Quentin (Olof) Elliott of Essex, CT and Margrethe (Scott) Rose of New Wilmington, PA as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Bonnie worked part time as an Interior Designer and then later in life was part owner of Budget Discount Furniture. However, her most cherished role was as a devoted stay at home mother to her three children Dustin, Jaclyn, and Noah whom she often referred to as “my whole world.” The love she had for her children was unconditional and unwavering. She never missed an event they were involved in whether it was a sporting event, a play or activity at school. She was incredibly happy to see all three of her children get married and cherished the memories of their weddings. That love extended to her grandchildren whom she adored and treasured every moment she spent with them.

Bonnie’s warmth and kindness extended far beyond her family. She had the rare ability to make friends wherever she went, and her positive outlook made her the life of the party. To know Bonnie was to be welcomed and appreciated, as she was able to make everyone feel special and loved. One of her greatest joys was getting together with the ‘Tuesday girls’ where she gathered weekly with friends from high school, maintaining friendships that lasted for many years.

Bonnie loved the ocean and enjoyed spending time at the beach or the pool sunbathing. She also had a passion for watching the Pittsburgh Steeler games and Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs. She was known for her artistic abilities, having an eye for decorating she was easily able to bring any area or space to life with her creative ideas. Bonnie also had an innate ability for cooking and baking; pumpkin and apple pies, pumpkin rolls, and “cheesy potatoes” were just a few of her specialties.

We will remember Bonnie as a person with a beautiful heart and a precious soul. No matter how hard life became or what obstacles she faced she remained resilient and never allowed them to harden her heart. She brought happiness and joy wherever she went and brightened the lives of everyone around her. Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her three children and husband.
