Bruce Bennett Kennerly, Jr.

Bruce Bennett Kennerly Jr., 76, of Denver, NC passed away on March 13, 2022.

Bruce was born in Mooresville, NC on July 23, 1945 to the late Bruce Kennerly Sr. and Doris Newton Kennerly. 

Bruce had 20+ years of service with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and, after retirement, spent time working at Cowan’s Ford Golf Course and the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. He loved watching the New York Yankees and Duke, hunting golf balls on the golf course, and watching westerns. 

Along with his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by sister, Carolyn Osborne; brother, Larry Kennerly; brother Rick Kennerly; and wife, Faye Newton.

He is survived by wife, Norma Kennerly; daughter, Lynn Russell (Kyle); step-daughter Becky Cody; grandchildren, Jessie Andre, Trey Andre (Brittany), Kaitlyn Russell, Matthew Rollins; great-grandchildren, Trevin Teems, Paisley Andre, and Caiden Andre; sister, Pam Eidson (Steve); brother-in-law, James Osborne.

A memorial service will be held Thursday Mar 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.
