Bryan William Schafer

Bryan William Schafer, 77, of Denver, NC, stepped from time into eternity, to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, on June 20, 2025, due to complications related to open heart surgery.

His favorite scripture was Psalm 91:2 & 16. "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust." "With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Born on January 4, 1948, in Turtle Creek, PA, Bryan had a joyful childhood as one of seven children.  Outdoor sports, fort-building in the woods, and sledding down snowy PA streets were memorable experiences!

He served in the US Navy in Vietnam on the USS Hunley as an underwater weapons expert.  He belongs to American Legion Post 86.

Bryan was employed as an engineer at Siemens/Westinghouse for over 50 years and retired in 2016.  Bryan spent his retirement engaged in various activities such as boating, swimming, golf, travel, bocce ball, card games, singing in the church choir, community BBQ's and designing a backyard koi pond.  He loved spending time with his family, friends, and long walks with his best fur friend, Taylee.

He is survived by his soul mate, Linda, whom he affectionately referred to as "the love of my life". His two daughters; Christina and Pam. Linda's three children; Stephen, Michael and Lindsay. Their three grandchildren; Caitlin, Clara and Jordan. His sister Dianne and his brother Jerome.

Bryan is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anne.  Brothers Freddie and Bruce, and sisters Francine and Carole.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Westport Baptist Church in Denver, NC.
