Carmen Leticia Clemente Celis "Lety"

Carmen Leticia Clemente Celis, fondly known as "Lety" to her loved ones, peacefully passed away in Charlotte on June 11, 2024. She was born in Venezuela on January 27, 1944, to her parents Ruben Dario Celis and Maria Elba Celis. 

 Although she couldn't fully pursue her passion for learning and education, she enriched her life with knowledge and life experiences as a mother of five, that she carried throughout her years. 

Lety now reunites with her beloved father Ruben Dario Celis, mother Maria Elba Celis, siblings Sasanto, Rosa, Doris and Ruben; all of whom shared memorable moments with her during their time together. 

 Lety was a busy bee, always finding something to do, to fix, or enhance, using her unique and artistic gifts. Her hands were rarely still. Her favorite job was being a dedicated mother and courageously raising her children.  She instilled strong family values in each of them and that's the greatest legacy she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Lety, Carolina, Jenny, Arlet and her son Ruben. 

Lety's biggest joy was being part of her grandkids' first steps into the world. She loved teaching them a few of her favorite traditions. Poulette, Franccezka, Giulianna, Giovanna, David, Fabian, and Mattias will always keep a special place for their grandma in their hearts. 

Her siblings Miriam, Janeth, Henry, and Maritza loved and honored her life by celebrating her with fond memories of their childhood. Music, laughs, poems and art were and will forever be an invisible force uniting their spirits. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Providence Rd. Zion Church, in Cornelius, NC. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of their beloved mom.  

Her kindness, wisdom, and warm presence will forever linger in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing Lety.
