Catherine Wells

Jeanie Catherine Price Wells of Charlotte, NC passed from this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

Catherine was born in Tacoma Park, MD on November 9, 1927 to the late William Edward Price and Helen Williams Price but lived most of her life in the Charlotte NC area.

Catherine graduated from Bain High School, Asheville Business School, and worked at Central Piedmont Community College until her retirement. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, participated in Meals-on-Wheels, and Women of the Church. She was a strong, selfless, compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed life while raising her family with unconditional love through all seasons.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Wells Jr; siblings, Marie Ingram, Shirley Culbreth, and Bill Price; as well as her son-in-law, Ted J Vanhoy.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamra Vanhoy of Boyd TX, and son, Chip Wells (Karen) of Harrisburg NC; grandchildren, Sarah Westover (Andy) of Arlington TX, Brian Vanhoy of Alexandria, LA; Bethaney Wells of Greensboro NC, Lauren Wells (USMC) and Garrett Wells (USMC). Great-grandchildren, Catherine and Brigid Westover, and Madalynn Vanhoy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville NC.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
