Cecil Edward Ormsby. 92 of Huntersville, NC left to be with the Lord on August 24, 2022.
Ed was born in Effingham, IL on May 2, 1930 to the late Cecil Edward and Gladys Colborn Ormsby
Along with his parents Ed is preceded in death by his brother, Cliff Ormsby; sister, Lou Ormsby Sayer; Son, Edward Ormsby and daughter, Gail Ormsby Gane. He is survived by Wife, Margaret Gil; Son, Daniel Ormsby; Son-in-law, Dwight Gane (Elizabeth); granddaughter, Chrystal Ormsby Schanewolf (Jon); granddaughter, Miranda Ormsby Mcginnis (Tim); grandson, Michael Ormsby (Jenn); granddaughter, Dawn Ormsby Edwards (Ben); grandson, Jeff Ormsby (Autumn); grandson, Matt Ormsby (Heather); grandson, David Gane (Ashley); grandson, Daniel Gane; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the start of the service. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery
Ed was a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor. He loved fishing, tennis and spending time with family. He also shared kindness and love with many pets over the years. Ed came to Charlotte, NC from Norfolk, VA in 1963 to open a camera repair shop. Southern Photo Technical Services was a successful business for over 30 years. Ed Loved God and served as an Elder at Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was highly thought of by those who knew him. We feel blessed to have been part of his life. He will be surely missed.
