Charles Anthony Chapman

Charles Anthony Chapman, 70, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on August 6, 2026. 

Born in Mooresville on October 16, 1955, he was the son of the late Ophelia Ferrell Chapman and Melvin Curtis Chapman. Charles was a lifelong member of Asbury Chapel Church and will be remembered as a loving father, son, and brother. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Barry, Wayne and Ray, and his sisters Barbara Crump, Sylvia Calhoun and Judy Phillips. He is survived by his son, Andy Chapman; his daughter, Amanda Stewart; his brothers Melvin, Ron, and Ken; his sisters Donna Coley and Cynthia Chidester; his grandchildren Bentlee and Hunter, and his beloved ex-wife Ann Chapman.

Charles was a kind-hearted man who would do anything for his family. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and especially valued time spent with

his family. A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:30 am at Asbury Chapel Global Methodist Church, 11724 Asbury Chapel Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. A reception with light refreshments will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Asbury Chapel Cemetery.
