Charles Kenneth Edwards

Charles Kenneth Edwards, age 85, of Denver, NC passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, with his loving wife Norma by his side. Ken, affectionately known as C.K., Kenny Boy and PPK was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce D. and Mary Edwards of Marshville, North Carolina.

Ken loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a gift for conversation which included telling stories and jokes that will be passed along for many generations. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in need. He enjoyed many sports and lived in the Knoxville, TN area for 51 years where he developed a deep love for the TN Volunteers, attending many football and basketball games with family and friends. Ken built a successful and diverse career in sales, ranging from pharmaceutical sales to hardware and Real Estate to name a few. He was known for his ingenuity and resourcefulness, often creating clever devices to solve household or automotive issues, and always had a remedy for ailments if someone was feeling under the weather. He graduated from Marshville High School where he excelled in basketball. His accomplishments on the court earned him and his teammates recognition for basketball in the Marshville Cultural Center.

Ken is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma B. Edwards; children, Russ Edwards (wife Tracy), and Lee Edwards (wife Tonda); grandchildren, Taylor Edwards, Chase Edwards, Griffin Edwards, Chandler Edwards, Brittany Smith, and Josh Overcash; siblings, Phil Edwards (wife Anne) of Wingate, NC and Wanda Woodlock of Sugar Land, TX.

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Denver United Methodist Church, Denver, NC with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Denver United Methodist Church, Attn: Helping Hands Ministry, P.O. Box 661, Denver, NC 28037. 

Ken loved his family and friends more than anything and will be dearly missed by all of them.
