Charles R. Madden, 79, of Huntersville, NC passed away on January 25, 2026.

Charles was born in Chicago, IL on August 14, 1946 to the late Robert Madden and Camille Madden.

Charles was a former musician in the Missing Links band that went on to become the famous band Chicago. He was able to open for the Rolling Stones during his career as a musician! He attended DePaul University for music school and he could absolutely destroy the guitar. He was also a computer consultant and avidly loved music, watching tv, and hanging out with his daughter and his dog Bentley on his patio while admiring different kinds of birds and squirrels, always ensuring they were well fed of course.

He is preceded in death by his parents whom he loved deeply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Daisy Madden; daughter, Fallon; daughter, Vanessa; son, Joe; and grandchildren, Aiden, Ainsley, and Sophia.

Memorial gifts may be made as donations to Alzheimer’s research in Charles’ honor at alz.org.

Charles was a gentle and kind man whose warmth radiated to everyone who knew him. He brought laughter, a bit of sarcasm, and constant jokes into every room. Beneath his humor was an incredibly affectionate and loving man who cared deeply for his family. He pushed his children to always be the best version of themselves, to shoot for the stars, and to never doubt themselves or their abilities. Charles was known for his gentle spirit, kind smile, and loving heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the compassion and humility he brought into the lives of others. He leaves behind a legacy of love and quiet strength.
