Cornelius

Christina Louise Ankrom, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 49. She was born on November 18, 1975, and lived most of her life in Rifton, New York. In 2018, she moved with her family to Cornelius, North Carolina, where she embraced a new chapter with her same radiant spirit.

Christina attended Brookside School for nearly 20 years, where she made memories for a lifetime. She lived a life full of joy and simple pleasures, always finding happiness in moments shared with those she loved. Christina adored watching the movie Beethoven, swimming in the pool, and taking family vacations which for many years included trips to Martha’s Vineyard and Outer Banks. She loved long walks on the greenway, shopping excursions, and even visits to the recycling center, which she turned into cheerful adventures. Christina especially cherished her new tradition of movie nights during her sibling weekends, creating moments of togetherness filled with laughter and love.

Family was the center of Christina’s world. She lit up every gathering—whether a holiday, barbecue, vacation, or birthday—with her infectious smile and laughter. Her compassion, fun-loving nature, and boundless love for others left an indelible mark on everyone blessed to know her.

Christina’s life was a testament not only to her own resilience and joy but also to the unwavering devotion of her mother, Sue, who was her constant caregiver, advocate, and source of unconditional love. Their bond was extraordinary, built on shared strength, patience, and endless tenderness.

She is survived by her devoted parents, Sue and Mike; her sisters, Suzanne Neeley (Steve) and Kristin Doherty (Sean); her brothers, Mark and Mick (Joan); and her many cherished nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her loving grandparents, who will welcome her with open arms.

The family will hold a private celebration of Christina’s life at a later date, carrying forward her legacy of warmth, joy, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to watch over her family and all who loved her.
