Claire Bordeaux Dominick, 93, of Huntersville, North Carolina passed away February 24, 2026.
She was born in Massachusetts on July 31, 1932 to the late Leo Paul Bordeaux and Jeanette Petrie Bordeaux. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her middle brother, Gene Bordeaux who passed away in 2023.
Claire graduated from Dickenson School of Nursing in Northampton, Massachusetts. She married Sam Cesena in 1953 and two children were born of the marriage, Vincent Paul Cesena and Beth Marie (Cesena) Lacey. Claire and Sam moved to Charlotte, NC in 1958. She began working at Mercy Hospital soon after arriving in Charlotte. After her divorce, she attended and graduated from Sacred Heart College in 1972. While she was at Mercy Hospital she was a staff nurse, nursing supervisor, and supervisor of Nursing Inservice Education. Claire left Mercy Hospital and became a supervising nurse at Carolina Medical Center. In 1978, she graduated from UNCC with a master's in education and counseling. From 1978 to 1993, Claire was the Psychiatric and Medical Surgery Coordinator for Central Community College of Nursing. In 1985 Claire married Roy Dominick. They remained married until Roy's passing in 2010.
Claire has been active in the American Red Cross, The American Nursing Association, as well as volunteering at the Stanley Regional Hospital for over ten years. Until moving from her lake Tillery home she was active at her church, Christ Episcopal Church in Albemarle.
She is survived by her son, Vincent Paul (Bud) Cesena and his wife Ann; daughter, Beth Cesena Lacey and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Marshall Cesena and wife Christie, Brennan Cesena and wife Kim; Grayson Cesena and wife Narumi, Katrina Borer and husband Michael, and Nicole Fischer and husband Steven; as well as her brother, Richard Bordeaux.
