Clifton "Buck" Jones

Clifton "Buck" Grier Jones, 92, of Stanley, NC died Wednesday August 14, 2013 at his residence. Born March 30, 1921 in Lincoln County he was a son of the late Sidney Roscoe Jones and Lula Nixon Jones. He served his country during WWII in the US Air Force as a mechanic and flight instructor, retired from the construction industry and enjoyed farming and gardening. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Clinard officiating Burial will follow at Martha's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at the funeral home He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 62 years, Evelyn Duckworth Jones; sons, Grier Jones and Wesley Jones; daughter, Treva Mills and husband Mike; granddaughter, Janna Mills; friend and caregiver Debbie Houk; best friend, Gilbert Mashburn and numerous extended family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Jones; brothers, North, Grady, and Houston Jones; sisters, Veltie Jones, Louise Duckworth, Vivian Mundy, Ellen Nixon and Alice Miller.
