Cynthia McLaughlin Zemcik

Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Zemcik, 78 of Huntersville, North Carolina passed away on May 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on August 12, 1947, to the late James McLaughlin and Marie McLaughlin.

Cindy earned her wings as a flight attendant for American Airlines in the 1960’s. She then dedicated her entire life to her family as a devoted wife for 57 years and was also the beloved mother to her three children. Cindy had incredible faith. She exemplified strength, resilience, and love. She loved creating a beautiful/loving home, spending time with family, friends and later in her life she thrived on being a grandmother to her two grandchildren.

Along with her parents and stepfather (Mark Beaubien Sr.), Cindy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William (Bill) Gary Zemcik.

She is survived by her three children, Christine (Christy) Zemcik, William (B.J.) Zemcik (Nicole), Cynthia Leonard, and her two grandchildren Hailey Leonard and Trey Zemcik.

A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina to honor and lay to rest both Bill and Cindy together.
