Deborah Susan Martin

December 29, 1960 — January 29, 2024

Cornelius

Deborah Martin, age 63, died unexpectedly on January 29, 2024.

Deborah Susan Rush was born December 29, 1960 to Richard L. Rush and Anne C. Rush. She is survived by her three children: Alexandra Paterson, Sean Paterson, and Taylor Paterson; her granddaughter Willow Paterson; her father Richard Rush; her sister Rebecca Rush-Peet MD; and her brother R. Stephen Rush.

A daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt, and friend. Everyone will have their own fond memories of Debbie, from growing up together as children, to partying through college. As our mum, she will be remembered for her uncanny ability to recite all Dr. Seuss books, for spending childhood summers at Gilead Farm in New Hampshire, and for her unwavering support of Liverpool FC (all thanks to a player named Rush).

She will forever live on in us as the smart, spirited woman that she was. So, in her memory, please raise a Mimosa to our mum, Debbie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends for a gathering and visitation from 10:00 am until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to the World Literacy Foundation.
