Dennis J. Kelly

Dennis J. Kelly, beloved husband, father, son, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 61.

Born on August 3, 1965, Dennis lived a life that touched far more people than he probably ever realized. He was a one-of-a-kind person—someone whose personality, humor, strength, and way of looking at life could never truly be duplicated. As those who knew him would say, we should all strive to be more like Dennis.

Dennis was so much more than words can fully express. He was a hero in the lives of those who knew him, a steady protector who made sure his family always felt safe, supported, and loved. He was a mentor in his own quiet way—offering guidance not always through lectures, but through example, patience, and presence. He was a loyal friend to many, the kind of person people could count on without hesitation, and someone who showed up when it mattered most.

Dennis shared nearly 40 years of love, memories, laughter, challenges, and life with his beloved wife, Paulette. Together they grew up, built a home and a family, and faced more than their share of hardships. There were difficult seasons and circumstances that could have broken them, but they continued to stand beside one another, finding their way through the hardest days together.

Dennis was a devoted father to his son, Tyler, who has special needs and was the light of his life. Dennis’s love for Tyler was unwavering, patient, and deeply protective. He was not only a father, but a constant advocate, caregiver, and source of strength—always making sure Tyler was cared for, understood, and loved exactly as he was. His bond with his son was one of his greatest purposes and proudest roles in life.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Edward J Kelly, his father-in-law Flavio Sambo, his daughter Taylor Tamara Kelly and nephew, Edward J Kelly the III.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; son, Tyler; beloved mother, Kathleen; and mother in law, Nilda; his siblings, brothers and sisters-in-law; and a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and extended family members, all of whom he loved dearly.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Dennis’s earthly journey came to an end. Though his family’s hearts are broken by his loss, they find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. He is now at peace, free from pain, and resting in the loving arms of God.

Those who knew Dennis will carry his memory with them—in the stories they tell, the laughter they remember, and the countless moments that made him who he was.

His absence leaves a space that can never be filled. But the love he gave and the life he shared will remain forever.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, North Carolina.

A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM in the chapel.
