In Loving Memory of Donald William Cook, Sr.
Donald William Cook, Sr., born on December 17, 1946, in Chester, PA, bid farewell to this world on May 4, 2024, in Iron Station, NC. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and doting grandfather. Donald's life was a testament to kindness and love.

A man of great integrity and honor, Donald served his country with pride in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. His time at Dover Air Force Base was marked by the solemn duty of assisting with dignified transfers of Service Members who had made the ultimate sacrifice. Stationed at Homestead Air Reserve showcased his dedication to serving his nation. After the military, Donald attended trade school and later worked as an industrial pipefitter where he traveled the Country servicing nuclear, automotive, oil plants, and Area 51 military bases among others.

Outside of his career, Donald found joy in various hobbies and interests. A lifelong Miami Dolphins fan with season tickets, he reveled in the thrill of motorsports like NASCAR and stock-car racing. His passion for these sports led him to work on a pit crew for sports car racing in the 70s where he excelled.

One of Donald's proudest accomplishments was his mastery as a barbeque pitmaster with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). For 12 years, he and his beloved wife Susan and son Donald competed in barbeque competitions across the nation, capturing hearts with their culinary skills. An avid reader and traveler, Donald enriched his life through exploration and knowledge. Above all, Donald cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Donald will be deeply missed by his surviving family: his devoted wife of over 50 years, Susan Reid Cook; his son Donald William Cook Jr. and daughter-in-law Jill; his daughter Stephanie Kristensen and son-in-law Dan; his sister Ella DeBald and brother-in-law Keith; as well as his beloved grandchildren Charlie Cook, Angel Kristensen, and Erika Kristensen.

Donald is now reunited in eternity with his father Charles William Cook and mother Lydia Jane Cook. His memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
