Donald Nicholas Danovich, 83, of Huntersville, NC passed away on November 15, 2024.
Don, as he was known, was born in New York, NY on July 22, 1941 to the late Nicholas Danovich and Margaret Lucas.
Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by Brian Thomas Danovich (son), Gage Hanson (grandson), and Marie Puorro (niece).
He is survived by his wife Rose Picarello Danovich; daughter Trish Danovich Craig and husband Abraham Craig; daughter Margaret Ann Picarello French and husband Rob French; son Donnie Danovich and wife Kim Marie Danovich; grandchildren Austin Hanson, Kyler Hanson, Summer Danovich, Jakob Danovich, Robert French, Devan French, Cara French, and Aaron French; sister Eleanor Danovich Puorro and husband Alfonso Puorro; nephew Joseph Puorro; niece Caroline Puorro Burkitt and husband Danny Burkitt; great niece Jessica Burkitt; and great nephew Joey Burkitt.
Don was a proud Army Veteran who served in Special Forces Infantry in Germany as a Paratrooper. He enjoyed bird watching and also held a 3rd Degree black belt in Tae Kwondo Karate. He was an active member at Living Faith Christian Church (LI, NY) for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Don was very proud of his grandchildren. He always had a smile and kind word for anyone he would meet.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Huntersville Presbyterian Church at 10 am on Monday, November 25.
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
