Donald Anthony Flynn

Donald Anthony Flynn, a decorated Marine Corps veteran, NYPD officer, and retired FBI Special Agent, passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Cornelius, North Carolina, on May 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in 1940 in the Bronx, New York, Don lived a life marked by courage, service, and accomplishment.

Don was a lifelong public servant. He served in combat during the Vietnam War as a U.S. Marine and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic or meritorious achievement. After his military service, he joined the New York City Police Department, where he served as a patrolman and member of the SWAT team. He later continued his career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, ultimately retiring as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES). Over the course of his distinguished career, he earned numerous awards and honors, along with the respect of his colleagues and peers.

Don earned his undergraduate degree from Iona College and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama, demonstrating a deep commitment to learning and professional growth.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Avenue W, Vienna, VA.

A funeral service with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia.
