Donald Franklin Smith

Donald Franklin Smith, 77 of Mooresville, NC passed away on Thursday December 16, 2010 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 19, 1933 in Winston Salem, NC to the late David P. and Grace R. Smith. After serving in the Army, Don worked for Hafo Distributing in Winston Salem. He moved to Charlotte in 1963 and was employed with Salem Carpet Mills. He was a co-founder of Web-Don, Inc in 1972. Don was a member of High Meadows Country Club in Roaring Gap, NC- his most favorite place on earth. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday December 19 in the Chapel of Raymer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be conduced 11:00 a.m. Monday December 20 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC . He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Essex Smith; their two children, Gregory A. Smith and wife Lisa of Denver, NC, and Donna S. Smith of Kernersville, NC and two grandchildren, Ryan and Meghan Smith who were the love of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne R. Smith and wife Lucille and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Dallas, Max, Flake, Bill and Dave Smith.
