Donald Malone Watson

Donald Malone Watson, 80, of Mooresville, NC passed away on January 3, 2023.  He was born in Bluefield, WV on November 12, 1942 to the late Henry and Josephine Watson.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Bill , Bob, and Roy Watson, and two sisters, Ramona Watson and Shirley Bowling.

Donald loved life to the fullest and especially spending his last year with his grandson Cole.  He was an amazing father to Sherrie and Derek which played a big role in his life along with sharing 59 years of marriage with his wife, Rita.  His friends and family loved him and enjoyed sharing car shows with his '57 Ford.  Some of the things he liked to do most was relaxing in the backyard and woodworking.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rita Watson; daughter, Sherrie Watson; son, Derek Watson (Caitlin); grandson Cole Watson; special friend, James Atkins; nephews, Jewell, Julius and Gary; nieces, Julie, Lynn, Nancy, Cathy, Anita and Debbie; sister-in-law, Barbara & EL; cousins, W.D. Lawson, Walter, Jennifer and Barry.

A memorial service to honor Donald's life will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC (16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078).  The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00pm.
