Donna Ovelia Mathis

Donna Ovelia Mathis, 63, of Cornelius, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born in Polk County, Georgia on May 7, 1960, the daughter of the late Elouise Mosley Mathis. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, J.W. and Beatrice Ovelia Mosley; and great niece, Alydia Daniel.

Donna loved her career as a massage therapist and enjoyed spending time with the wonderful clients and associates she met in North Carolina. She had a fondness for cars and it was often said that cars and music were her love language. She also enjoyed traveling, especially road trips. Donna was the most unique, generous, and strong-willed person that you could ever meet.

Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Billy Johnson; brother, Shane Brown; nieces, Hannah Daniel and husband Wesley, Lacey Rouzee and husband Tyler, Cambryn Melillo and husband Mike, Jennifer Brown, and Jordan Brown; nephew, Matthew Brown; special aunts, Mavis Gantt, and Sandra Perry; special friends, Bob and Ann McIntosh, and the Davidson Cotton Mill Family; and many other friends and family.  

Plans for a memorial service honoring Donna's life will be announced in the future.
