Douglas Bailey Phifer

Douglas Bailey Phifer, known affectionately as Doug, passed away on July 13, 2024 in Huntersville, NC. Doug was a beloved figure in the community as the owner and operator of Diversified Specialties, Inc in Belmont. Doug was not only a successful businessman but also a compassionate employer who cherished his employees, always going the extra mile to ensure their well-being.

Doug was born on October 9,1951, in Gaston County, NC. He graduated from NC State University, where he developed a lifelong love for his alma mater. Apart from his work, he had various interests that brought him enjoyment. Doug found solace in hiking through the mountains, watching football games with his family and friends, and showcasing his skills as an avid home chef.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Patricia Phifer. His legacy lives on through his daughters Michelle & Benji Snipes of Bessemer City, Jennifer & Carlos Lopez of Waxhaw, and Tammy Moose & Lauren Tompson of Winston Salem. He was also a cherished presence in the lives of his grandchildren Kendal, Colby, Georgia, Reece, Mathew, Madisyn, and Myles. Additionally, he is mourned by numerous cousins.

Doug's memory will be honored during visitation services at Raymer - Kepner Funeral Home in  Huntersville on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The visitation will be  followed by a graveside service at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia at 1:00 PM.

Doug's kindness and generosity touched many throughout his journey. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
