Durwood "Woody" Lamar Naman

Durwood "Woody" Lamar Naman, 76, of Cornelius, passed away on October 19, 2021. He was born in Sandersville, GA, the son of the late Carl and Lula Clarene Naman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Carl Naman. Woody attended college at the University of Georgia where he majored in math & physics, he went on to Georgia Tech and graduated with a Master's Degree. Woody worked as a radiation physicist and traveled between hospitals in Charlotte, Shelby, Morehead City, and New Bern. In his free time, he enjoyed sailing and swimming. Woody was also an avid photographer. He volunteered countless hours taking soccer photographs for Mooresville High School. Above all, Woody loved his family and will be remembered as a very gentle, soft spoken, caring, and kind person. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carole Naman; children, Wes Naman, and Jim Naman; and granddaughter, Liv Naman.

A reception will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., at the Bailey's Glen Club House, 12100 Meetinghouse Drive, Cornelius, NC 28031.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, 11:00 A.M., at Sandersville United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church Street, Sandersville, GA 31082.
