Elaine Hamill Stewart, 78, of Huntersville, NC passed away on April 29, 2025.
Elaine was born in Indiana, PA on December 27, 1946 to the late Roy Clark Hamill and Mildred Steele Hamill.
Along with her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Fredrick Hamill (Mary Lou), and twin sister, Barbara Eileen Hamill Bonfanti Carter (Thomas).
Elaine leaves behind many, many people who will miss her tremendously. She is survived by her brother, Roger Delos Hamill (Niki) and her step-children, Pamela Stewart James (Ronnie), Gregory Grant Stewart (Jennifer), and Jeffrey Charles Stewart (Carol). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Elaine cherished the close bond that she had with her Pennsylvania cousins. She loved her friends like family.
Elaine was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She traveled extensively on 7 continents and to 49 states and was a member of the Sir Edmund Hillary Overseas Adventure Club. She enjoyed cooking, photography, and many arts and crafts including scrapbooking and card making. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers!
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on May 23, 2025 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on May 24, 2025 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC. Elaine will be interred at Gilgal Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Marion Center, PA at a later date.
To honor Elaine’s memory and her lifelong love of beauty, the family welcomes floral arrangements. For those who prefer, a donation may also be made to St. Mark’s Catholic Church, which held a special place in Elaine’s heart. Your gesture will be a tribute she would have cherished.
