Faison Perry

James Faison Perry, 95, passed away on November 1, 2021 at The Pines at Davidson, NC. He was born in Vance County, North Carolina on February 2, 1926.

Faison is survived by his current wife, Claudia Hill Perry. He also survived his first wife, Iona Bass Perry of 69 years in which he had five children, daughter, Sheila P. Smith (Graham) of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Gwen P. Sexton (Larry) of Harrisburg, NC; son, James Faison Perry, Jr. (Dorothy) of Smithfield, VA; daughter, Gayla P Harris (Joe) of Cornelius, NC; and his now deceased son, Kenneth T. Perry (Jeanette) of Gastonia, NC. He has nine grandchildren: Ronald Edward Moore, Jr. (Ramona); Ryan Bradford Moore, Wendy S. Pitts (David); Amy S. Patterson (Jeff); James Faison Perry, III (Colleen); Chad Perry (Julie), Chris Perry (Lindsey); Brett Harris (Shannon) and Savannah Perry. He also has ten great-grandchildren.

Faison was a World War II Veteran who fought and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. He loved his family and was a devoted Christian. He was musically inclined playing his fiddle and guitar. He and Iona loved to participate in round and square dancing. He was an avid golfer who loved to teach and challenge his grandkids.

A private family memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC
