Gale Eugene Blackburn

Gale Blackburn went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7th, after a courageous 20-year battle with the long-term effects of his cancer treatment.  Though he fought valiantly, he ultimately passed due to cardiac arrest brought on by a severe infection.

Gale was a kind, generous, and humble man, known for his unwavering faith, his wonderful sense of humor, and his ever-encouraging words.  He lived each day with a deep love for the Lord and for his family, who were the center of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, his three children, eight grandchildren, and two brothers.  His legacy of faith, love, and kindness lives on in each of them.  

A funeral service honoring Gale's life will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 3:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home (16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078), followed by a graveside service at Northlake Memorial Gardens.

The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Gale to a Celebration of Life reception at The Rafters at St. Mark's Episcopal Church from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Please RSVP if you plan to attend the celebration to honor Gale through food, fellowship, and shared memories.

He will be deeply missed, but we rejoice in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
