Giovanna Romita

Giovanna Paparelli Romita, 82, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away January 2, 2020 at Lake Norman Regional Hospital.

She was born September 23, 1937 in Bari, Italy to Michael and Italia Paparelli.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Pietro Romita, and two sisters.

Giovanna is survived by her daughter Sandra Eckbold and husband Thomas, of Mooresville; three grandsons, John, Nicholas, and Alexander; several brothers and one sister; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and knitting, but loved her family above all.

Wake will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, North Carolina.  Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2020, also at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Giovanna's remembrance to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718.
