Irene Pagano

February 1, 1945 — January 10, 2020

Irene Ann Pagano, 74, of Huntersville, NC passed away on January 10, 2020.

Irene was born in Paterson, NJ on February 1, 1945 to the late Walter and Sophia Mroz.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Pagano of Huntersville, NC; sister, Wanda Morelli of Hawthorne, NJ; daughters Suzanne O’Dell and Husband Reece of Columbia, SC; Karyn Schriener of Delray Beach, FL; four grandsons, Kevin and Adam O’Dell of Columbia, SC; Zackary and Ryan Schriener of Delray Beach FL.

Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was beyond measure. She was utterly devoted to her role as grandma and was a pivotal influence in their lives. She enjoyed playing cards and games. Irene had a competitive and fun-loving streak that she passed along to her family. She will forever be remembered for sideling up to grandsons and good-naturedly pestering them by twirling their hair, poking them in the ribs, and playfully finding was to express how much she loved them. She was an avid reader and lover of tea; one could always find her in her favorite chair enjoying a book and a cup on a quiet afternoon. However, the greatest love and light of her life was her husband of 54 years. Together they weathered many a storm, raised a family, started a business, enjoyed retirement, bickered back and forth to the delight of everyone present and were each other’s best friend. She will always be loved and remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
