Jack Gabe Reid

Jack G. Reid, 88, of Huntersville, North Carolina, passed away on May 15, 2021.

Jack was born in Cornelius, North Carolina on April 8, 1933 to the late James Reid and Ada Poole Reid.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Reid; and sons, Richard Reid and Jerry Reid.

Surviving are his son, Jack E. Reid (Dora); daughter, Ada "Penny" Reid Hawkes (Ken); son, David Reid; brother, Vance Reid; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Jack was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served with the 932nd Medical Company as a Medical Aidman at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He worked and retired from Crescent Electric as a lineman.  Jack enjoyed playing Santa Claus for over 25 years around the area and also served as a Boy Scout leader.  He never met a stranger, had an extraordinary gift of helping anyone in need, and over the years was blessed to lend a helping hand to many.  Above all, Jack loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  If you didn't know him, you missed out on knowing a truly good man.
