Janice Gail Ramsey

d. May 19, 2022

Janice Gail “Jan” Ramsey, of Charlotte, North Carolina, departed this life Thursday, May 19, 2022.  Jan was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” Ramsey and Hazel Spencer Ramsey of Gaffney, South Carolina.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steve Ramsey, also of Gaffney.

In her retirement, Jan devoted her time to animal advocacy.  She was most recently the President of Boston Terrier Rescue Team of the Carolinas (a.k.a. Black Tie Boston Rescue), but through the years she answered the call when time, money, or a safe foster home was needed.  Jan fostered and adopted special needs dogs with deft and caring hands to manage their extraordinary medical and emotional requirements.

Jan’s “heart dog” and soulmate was her Boston Terrier, Fred, who took his journey to the Rainbow Bridge on December 20, 2014.  Her final wishes are that her remains be placed with his, and that they be scattered together.  Jan’s animal rescue friends will carry out her wishes in a private ceremony at a later date.  As such, no public memorial arrangements will be made.

If you wish to honor Jan’s memory, she would ask that you give of yourself in any possible capacity to the betterment of sick, mistreated, or displaced animals in your area.  Whether that be donating to a local rescue, volunteering for your local Humane Society, or simply spreading awareness.

If you would like to donate to Jan’s beloved Boston Terrier rescue, you may visit facebook.com/BTRTOC.

Jan is greatly missed and will be forever cherished by her friends, but we find solace in knowing that she is with her beloved Fred once more.
