Jimmy Carol Avery, 70, passed away on December 22, 2022, in Huntersville, NC.  He was born on June 2, 1952, in Lincolnton, NC, to the late Leonard Avery and late Betty Avery.

Jim graduated from West Lincoln High School in 1970. He served in the Air Force National Guard in Charlotte, NC. He went on to earn a Business Associate Degree, and then started his career in the textile industry and  dedicated the rest of his life to this industry. He was Plant Manager for several companies in the US, along with Colombia, South America.

Jim married Kathy Hoover on November 14, 1970. They had two daughters: Amanda and Julie Avery.

On February 1, 1992, he married Patricia Avery, in Charlotte, NC. The couple had 2 children: Nicholas and Daniel Avery.

Jim was best known for the love for his children and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping and he loved nature.

Jim is survived by Patricia Avery - spouse, Amanda Powell (JJ) - daughter, Julie Tate (Shannon) - daughter, Nicholas Avery - son, Daniel Avery - son. L. Gordon Jr. Avery (Lisa) - brother, Robert Wayne Avery (Lana) - brother, Freddy Avery (Jeanette) - brother, Susan Mathis - sister, Fran Wilson (Jeff) - sister. Grandchildren: Skyler Powel (Haley), Bryanna Powel (Taylor Long) Hunter Powell (Cheyenne), Jared Tate (Hunter Willis), Cadee Tate. Greatgrandchildren, Riley Powell, Carter Powell, Ryker Powell, Reagan Powell , and, Kohen Tate.

The service and celebration for Jimmy Carol Avery will be held on January 2, 2023, at 3:00pm at Lake Forest Church located 8519 Gilead Road, Huntersville NC, 28078.

The Avery family would like to thank everyone for your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time of mourning.
