Joao Mourao, age 60, passed away on January 19, 2018. Joao was born in Beira, Mozambique on June 22, 1957.
He is survived by his wife of 36 beautiful years, Lina Mourao, and his two children, Bruno and Cristina Mourao. Joao, also known as Joe, will be fondly remembered as a loving husband and father, a wonderful friend to many, a hard worker, and a legendary baker of breads. He loved futebol, good food, traveling to new places, fishing on the beach, hats, and sending jokes to his family and friends. Joao lived a rich life full of happiness, and wherever he is now, we know he has already made countless friends. He will be immensely missed.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 28 at 11am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Lymphoma Research Foundation or The Cancer Research Institute. A beer may be drank in his honor.
