Elmer Roy “John” Werth, Jr., 89, of Stanley, NC passed away on December 1, 2016.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Williams Werth; parents, Elmer and Erma Werth; sister, Margie Gooding; brother, Charlie Werth; and son, Ronnie Werth.
He is survived by his daughter, Marie Williams and husband Mitch; son, Danny Werth and wife Judy; daughter in law, Linda Werth; brothers, Leslie (Barbara), Harold (Jane); four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
John retired from Swift & Co, Lays Meat Packing. He loved watching baseball and he coached baseball and softball for all ages. John also loved NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt), fishing, hunting and horseshoes. Most of all, John loved his family.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery located 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd, Belmont, NC 28012.
