Johnsie Gayle Riggins Raborn

Johnsie Gayle Riggins Raborn, 94, of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was born in Union County, NC on March 16, 1928, the daughter of the late John Pearl Riggins and Ruby Gayle Riggins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Raborn; siblings, Dennis Fern Riggins, Reece Riggins, Audrey Clontz, Ercel Timmons, Jack Riggins; grandson, Gregory Raborn; and special friend, Annie Gray.

Johnsie was a lifelong member of Derita Baptist Church and was a good, devout Christian lady. She retired from Southern Bell after over twenty-five years of service. Johnsie enjoyed eating sweets, watching "The Andy Griffith Show", and most of all, talking on the telephone. She will be remembered as a terrific mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law.

Johnsie is survived by her children, Marty and Danny Moore, Lowell and Brenda Raborn, Mark and Tammi Raborn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lura and Bill Baker, Joyce and Keith Thomas; grandchildren, Matt Raborn and wife Jessica, Bryan Raborn and wife Allison, Kyle Raborn and Jessica, Jennifer Raborn and Michael, and Ryan Raborn; great grandchildren, Cora and Ellie Raborn, Raelynn Raborn, Jayson and Rylee Lesh, and Rhodes Raborn.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, 1:30 P.M. at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262, officiated by Reverend Wayne Raborn and Reverend Leroy Grant. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 1:30 P.M. prior to the service.
