Joseph Scott Poteat

Joseph “Joey” Scott Poteat, 20 of Charlotte, NC passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, 2019.  His short life taught so many people about love, strength, friendship, and determination.  He brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.  He loved his friends and family with his whole heart…almost as much as he loved to eat macaroni and cheese! He attended Huntersville Elementary, Ridge Road Middle School, and Metro School before attending the PATH residential program in Creedmoor, NC and Skill Creations in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

He was born in Charlotte on March 18, 1999 to Scott and Jodi Poteat.  He is survived by his Dad; Scott, Mom; Jodi, and sisters Grace and Annie. He is also survived by his beloved Grandma and Papa; Joseph and Donna Williamson;and Grampy and Grammy; Bob and Sandy Poteat, his uncles, aunts, and cousins; Eric, Honey, Carter, and Hannah Williamson, and Tim, Leigh Ann, and Nathaniel Plemmons.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4^th from 6:00-9:00PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 5^th at St. Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078. Opening comments at 10:45AM and mass at 11:00AM.
