Joyce Margaret Bellows

d. January 6, 2023

Cornelius

Joyce Margaret Bellows, 84, died from cancer on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was a doting grandmother, loving mother, and loyal friend. She was best known for her undaunted kindness, open-doored nature and the magical ability to conjure up any moment or event into a party. She had a beautiful life that spanned from the first man on the moon, to having arguments with the virtual home assistant "Alexa".

She loved to laugh and was a chicken when it came to horror movies. To suffice it to say, she was afraid of the classic horror film, "The Blob". She brainwashed her daughters with the music of Elvis Presley.  She had an open mind and embraced all genres of media which included Game of Thrones.   To quote a line from Game of Thrones, "Her Watch has now ended."

She was a native of Queens, New York, who graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. As a young woman, she worked in various places in Manhattan which included the New York Stock Exchange. She married her soul mate, George Bellows on May 7, 1967 in Queens, New York. She loved him to the day she died.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Patricia Wodzenski, Jennifer Lynn Permenter, Son in Law, Alan Charles Wodzenski, Grandson, Michael George Permenter, and finally, her sister, Linda Windebank. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, who played very important roles in her life.

She will be cremated at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Her ashes will be buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in 11801 US Highway 19 North/5233 118th Avenue N Clearwater, Florida with her husband, George Bellows. A mass will be dedicated to her at St. Mark's Catholic Church at 14740 Stumptown Rd, Huntersville, NC  on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 6:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate to St. Jude''s Children's Research Hospital as this was Joyce's favorite charity.

As we remember Joyce and mourn the loss of a wonderful woman, let

us keep in mind a phrase she would always recite: "Don't cry, Laugh."
