Katherine Bailey Kerley

Katherine Bailey Kerley, 81, of Cornelius, NC passed away on November 11, 2019.

She was born in Mecklenburg County on November 25, 1937 to the late Joe Nelson Bailey and Inez Sansbury Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Bailey Keller; brothers, Jesse Lee Bailey, Barney Gray Bailey, and Tony Martin Bailey.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Allyn Kerley; sons, Bobby Dean Childers (Sharon); Dale Matthew Childers (Petri), and Darryl Lynn Kerley (Deborah); daughters, Charlene Michelle Collazo and Deanna Ray Sobota (Steven); grandchildren, Catherine Elizabeth Anderson, Bobby Dean Childers II, Christy Mae Owens, Heather Matlin, Sarah Willig, David Childers, Rebecca Childers, McKayla Childers, Jesse Kerley, Christian Collazo, Elena Collazo, and Nicholas Sobota; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Katherine always had a smile on her face. She loved music and liked to play the piano. She enjoyed making her own clothes, and going on walks with her husband at home. Above all, she loved her family the most.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.

The family will received friends for a gathering prior to the service from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm.
