Kortney Kryzynski 27 of Mooresville North Carolina passed away on February 28, 2026. Born April 16, 1998 in Lawrence Massachusetts. Kortney was the beloved daughter of Aimee Belanger Kryzynski and Rick Kryzynski.
Kortney was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin and friend. She loved deeply and fiercely and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she cared about. In return, she was cherished by so many whose lives she touched.
Kortney‘s interests were as diverse as her talents. She was truly an artist at heart. Whether she was crafting a one of a kind cocktail behind the bar, or transforming a face or body with her makeup and paints, her creations were always a work of art.
From a young age, Kortney’s curiosity and talents were impossible to miss. At just nine years old, Kortney began riding horses, taking voice lessons and playing the piano, each becoming another way for her to express the depth of her spirit.
Kortney also possessed a brilliant and inquisitive mind. Her love of chemistry earned her an academic scholarship to Birmingham Southern College to study chemical engineering. Ultimately, she chose to follow her passion for makeup artistry and attended Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she graduated at the top of her class. One of Kortney‘s dreams was to one day create her own line of skin care and cosmetics.
In addition to her brilliant mind and artistic flair, Kortney enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King novels and watching horror movies. Kortney was also a devoted Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Georgia BullDawg fan and she liked watching her adopted local NC team, the Charlotte Checkers.
Kortney lived life boldly and authentically, always on her own terms. She smiled with her whole face, and her laugh was infectious. Her light was simply too bright for this world.
Kortney had a deep love for animals. Her beloved fur babies, Kirby and Blueberry were constant companions and the loves of her life.
Though her time with us was far too short, the love and light Kortney shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Kortney is survived by her brother, Kyle Kryzynski, paternal grandmother, Joanne Petzy, stepmother Stacey McCraney- Kryzynski, stepsisters Reagan St. Onge and Lauren McCraney and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A celebration of life will take place following the visitation. Guests are encouraged to wear bold, bright colors to honor Kortney.
