Lawrence Schwind

Lawrence Schwind, 87 years young entered eternal rest June 9, 2022, at Novant Presbyterian Hospital Charlotte, NC after a brief illness. Larry was surrounded by family members during his final days. Born July 21, 1934, in Newark, NJ, he honorably served in the U.S. Army with the 102^nd Armored Calvary as Staff Sergeant/Tank Commander. He was member of the Keyport American Legion Post 23.

He was employed with Trailways/Suburban Transit and retired from ADT Security Services in 1997 and lived in Fords, NJ until moving to Charlotte, NC. Larry was married to Ida Schwind for 62 blissful years and was known by family and friends with his sense of humor, smile and an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Larry was predeceased by his mother, Wilhelmina; sister, Mimi; and daughter-in-law, Jacque Schwind. Surviving members of his family are his wife, Ida of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Barbara Dimock and husband, Scott of Davidson, NC; and a son, Larry Schwind and wife, Stacy and her two children, John and Ally of Glenwood, NJ. He is also survived by four grandsons, Reno Schwind (former USMC) of Glenwood, NJ, Kyle Schwind of Reading, PA, Tyler Dimock of Davidson, NC and PFC Joshua Dimock currently stationed at Ft. Benning, GA.

Services and cremation will be private and memorial service to be held in New Jersey at a date to be determined.
