Lois Margaret Chandler, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2026. Born in Brantford Ontario Canada, Lois later made Cornelius, NC her home for the past 35 years, where she built many lifelong friendships.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard “Pudge” Chandler, in 2013, and by her parents, William Ronald Crouch and Kathleen Rose Crouch.
Lois is survived by her loving children, Casey (Ann), Kerry (Stefan), and Genny (Wade). She was deeply devoted to her beloved grandchildren, Cody, Taylor (Ben Beard), Hagan, Quinn, Ryan, and Kane, who were the light of her life, and to her cherished great-grandchildren, Chandler and Parks, who brought her great joy. And her little dog Bailey.
Lois was the kind of person everyone loved being around. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome. To her family she was simply “Ma,” the heart of everything. She was loving, strong, stylish, hardworking, and always put others first.
She was funny, quick-witted, and loved to laugh. Her beautiful smile and contagious laughter could light up a room. She was a wonderful storyteller, the best baker, and could host and entertain better than anyone. She was known for her kindness, compassion, signature style of matching jewelry, and she had a no-nonsense honesty that people respected and loved.
Lois touched many lives through 25 years of hospital volunteer service, her years as a business owner, and the many deep friendships she cherished throughout her life. Loved by so many, she shared laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories with amazing friends. Lois had a love of travel and enjoyed every adventure. She will be deeply missed and always remembered with love and gratitude.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on May 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at Sweet Magnolia Estates, 10101 Bailey Road, Cornelius, NC 28031. Lois lived her life in full color so let’s do the same at her memorial!
