Margaret Ann Merritt

Margaret "Peggy" Ann Merritt, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 18, 1947, Peggy was a beacon of love and strength throughout her life.

Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Merritt, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their union is a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another and the family they nurtured together.

She was a loving mother to Nancy Buckstad and her husband Kenneth, as well as to Ronald Merritt and his wife Kimberly. Peggy’s legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Brittany and Scott Buckstad, and Ryan and Alexandra Merritt, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Nancy Evans and Edith Andruscavage, and her husband Ed, with whom she shared a deep bond that spanned a lifetime.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Margaret Rodarmel, and her sisters, Doris McGinnis, Joan Davidson, Maryann Osborne and brothers, Kenneth Rodarmel and Ronald Rodarmel.

A memorial service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Salem UMC in Denver, NC with visitation immediately following the service.

She will be remembered for her warm spirit, kindness, and dedication to her family. Her presence in the lives of those who knew and loved her will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
