Our dear Mother slipped away into heaven amongst the sounds of hymns and scripture reading at Pittsboro Christian Village on January 2nd. She missed her 100th birthday party by just one day.

Her childhood was spent surrounded by her five siblings in Charlotte. She met our father Joseph on a blind date and they married in 1946. Together they raised a family with Carol Elaine Hubbard, Janet Hubbard Esposito and Mark Todd Hubbard.

As a young family their lives were centered around the church. Firstly, as members of Craig Avenue ARP and then as members of Idlewild ARP. She made many friends through the church and her dearest friends she has managed to outlive.

Mother is best remembered by her family for her persistent smile, witty humour, generosity and ability to deliver direct feedback. She had a marvelous ability to make friends.

Her time in heaven will be blessed with never ending supplies of lemon for her iced tea and plenty of ice cream sundaes.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her children: Carol Hubbard (daughter), Janet Esposito (daughter), Mark and Kim Hubbard (son & Daughter in law); and Grandchildren: Matthew Hubbard and wife Lacey, Michelle Hubbard and partner Josh, Michael Hubbard and partner Caroline, Bradley Esposito.

Memorial service, Saturday January 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312

Burial, Monday January 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Gilead ARP Church, 15303 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville NC. 28078

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Margaret’s memory are invited to support Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro NC, where Mom was lovingly cared for in her last years.

Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home out of Huntersville will be assisting the family.
